Position Summary


To be responsible for the overall HSE matters of all the mills in Malaysia operations. Summary of Responsibilities:

The Senior Compliance Consultant has primary responsibility for evaluating the current regulatory environment, ensuring that U.S. Business field procedures comply with new and pending regulations, creating any necessary new policies and procedures to keep the Company in compliance, training the field, and communicating the new requirements to five field distribution channels (over 10,000 field representatives).

The Consultant is expected to partner with Senior Home Office and Senior Field Management throughout U.S. Business to ensure that policies, procedures, communications, forms, and training materials meet regulatory requirements, corporate objectives, and training needs in the most efficient manner possible.

Principal Responsibilities:

1.Evaluate the current regulatory environment to ensure that U.S. Business field procedures comply with new and pending legal and regulatory requirements introduced by state insurance departments, state securities divisions, FINRA, the SEC, and other regulatory bodies.

2.Create field policies, procedures, communications, forms, and training materials to keep the Company in compliance with new and pending laws and regulations. Ensure that emerging trends and issues are addressed quickly and effectively with imaginative and creative strategies. Additionally, ensure that materials are tailored to each distribution channel, but a consistent message is communicated across all five U.S. Business distribution channels.

3.Partner with U.S. Business management by reviewing new policies and procedures, communications, training materials and strategies with Senior Field Management, prior to dissemination, to identify and address potential roadblocks to implementation or effectiveness. This entails weekly meetings with Chief Compliance Officers, Senior Field Management, Legal, and Operations areas as well as monthly review of policies, procedures, and compliance related systems with Firm managers, supervisors, and administrative support.

4.Partner with back-office and operations areas to ensure that all front-office policies and procedures align.

5.Review and evaluate policies and procedures to ensure that all published material is up-to-date and reflects best practices. Update compliance manuals and supervision guides with all new and revised policies and procedures. Ensure all policies and procedures are archived for regulatory purposes.

6.Provide support in the creation of comprehensive field compliance training programs for delivery by field compliance trainers, U.S. Business school presenters, and through on-line delivery mechanisms. This may also entail working with third party training vendors and “off the shelf” training materials. 

7.Build effective collaborative relationships with key U.S. Business resources to ensure that appropriate compliance communications concerning legal, regulatory, technological, and operational changes are disseminated in a timely manner.

8.Monitor, on an ongoing basis, the effectiveness of communications, policies, procedures, and training programs to deliver status reports on key initiatives.

9.Solicit feedback proactively throughout U.S. Business to foster continuous improvement.

Job Overview

·         Responsible for supporting the plant operations department in the area of Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
·         Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to the plant Quality/Lab Department and plant personnel by understanding regulatory, customer and internal Saputo quality requirements.
·         Oversee Quality Assurance systems in order to satisfy internal and customer requirements to include process evaluation and product protection programs; process specifications and standards; sanitation programs, HACCP and GMP programs; production labeling; and product storage and distribution.
·         Responsible for coordinating/conducting all quality training to include GMP, HACCP, Allergen, etc.
·         Responsible for supervising the Big Stone Quality/Lab Department and all related job functions.
·         Oversee quality control systems to include hold programs and mock recalls; lab procedures; product functionality evaluations; process verification programs; internal and external audits, and environmental microbiological monitoring programs.
·         Lead problem-solving efforts through the facilitation of team meetings and on-the-floor leadership to effectively influence positive change and continuous improvement.
·         Communicate frequently with the corporate QA Team to be proactive in satisfying customer requirements.
·         Perform miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as deemed appropriate and necessary.
